Commissioned 2LT in U.S. Army, and served 2 years active duty after graduation from FSU.

Returned to Coral Gables, taught government at Palmetto Senior High School and Southridge High School.

Left teaching in the late 70’s for the financial services industry. Formed First Financial Investment Services (NASD/FINRA), Financial Planning Resources (RIA), which developed the The VARDS Report.

Instigated and was a founding Board Member of NAVA (now the Insured Retirement Institute/IRI). Past NAVA/IRI Chairman, and Hall of Fame member.

Sold The VARDS Report (now part of Morningstar) and left in 2005. Worked as an independent retirement income consultant until retirement in 2012.

Have been an avid road cyclist for almost 40 years, and now enjoy amateur radio.
